Connected!

The Oceanic Time Warner Cable lady came to our house today.

She told me that I would have to go up into our attic to drill holes for our connections. That way, we would not have to tear into our walls.

What the heck, I do what I'm told. So I donned her "miner's headlamp" and climbed up her ladder and drilled about six holes before she realized that we were not getting anywhere and then discovered that our house was already internally wired!

So now we are connected to the Internet. That is a major breakthrough for us, as the Big Island is not big on connectivity in general.

Night falls fast in Hawai'i...

...so I drive faster during the day!

After a long wait, and studying our fauna, the Shipping Container Arrives!

When we arrived at our new home Tuesday evening, we were tired but excited, even though we had to sleep on air mattresses.

The next morning, my nephew, Dan Dougherty, told me an empty house in paradise was not so bad. Looking around at our plants, flowers and bananas, I found myself in agreement with my stoic relative!

Two days later, our furniture from the Mainland arrived at our new home in Mountain View, Hawaii!

We're finally cooking in our kitchen and sleeping on our beds. Life is good!

Chris Eubanks, Class of 1989

I had a great conversation on Friday with 1989 DeLaSalle graduate, Chris Eubanks.

Chris and his family are real estate agents in Norman, Oklahoma. He is proud of his education at DeLaSalle, and has achieved much in his life since graduation.

He agreed to help us with a gift for our capital campaign. I invited Chris to visit us soon. He has a great story to tell, and I'd love to have you get to know him better!
